Spatial Innovision Limited was the key Developing Nation sponsor of the 10th International Conference for Spatial Data Infrastructure, which was held at the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus in Trinidad on February 25-29, 2008. The selected theme was "Small Island Perspectives on Global Challenges: The Role of Spatial Data in Supporting a Sustainable Future." This theme was explored by way of workshops, plenary sessions, technical paper presentations, sponsor and poster exhibits and a poster competition in addition to numerous organized round table discussions. Spatial Innovision hosted the Trimble booth at the conference, which featured Trimble’s mapping & surveying products. A joint Spatial/ ESRI booth showcasing Spatial Innovision’s company brochure was also present. Spatial was represented in two (2) sessions as Dr. Earl Edwards gave a presentation titled “Transforming SDI Implementation using GIS Server Technologies: A Caribbean Perspective” and Ms. Kerry-Ann Mahabeer presented a paper on “GIS Training experience in the Caribbean”.
